Symbol of Bell Drum
The donno drum is a laced, double-headed hourglass-shaped drum which is hung across the shoulder with a strap. It is widely distributed across Ghana and the rest of West Africa. This gives a special effect to the sound of the drum.
The donno drum is used in a variety of dance and music festivals in the Akan community. The drums are also played to sing praises of notable members of the community for their good deeds.
